Choosing a university major is a crucial decision that significantly affects one’s academic and career
path. Many prospective students struggle to select a suitable major that aligns with their interests and abilities. This
study aims to develop a mobile-based Decision Support System (DSS) application using the Simple Additive
Weighting (SAW) method to assist students in selecting the right major. The application was developed using
Android Studio, programmed in Java, and employed Room Database (SQLite) for local data storage. Users
complete an interest and preference test, and the system processes the data using the SAW algorithm to generate
ranked recommendations based on weighted and normalized criteria. The Black Box Testing results indicate that
all features function properly, the SAW method provides accurate and consistent outcomes compared to manual
calculations, and the user interface is clear and intuitive. The application effectively helps users identify their
interests and potential while offering objective and interactive decision-making support. Therefore, the system
contributes to improving the quality of decision-making in higher education..
